"I Wanna Be A Star" is a departure for Hardy & Strong in that all the works focus exclusively on emerging artist Chiyo, with the incorporation of video media, and the launch of her eponymous single. Chiyo has previously appeared in several works by Hardy & Strong, so it seemed a natural progression to document their some-time muse at this stage in her development as a celebrity figure. This exhibition represents a happy parallel between artists and subject cementing their respective endeavours in the public consciousness. Although their relationship with Chiyo is mutually agreeable, Hardy & Strong relish the opportunity to comment on current media preoccupations by presenting her in topical scenarios.
